According to William Alexander Parlee’s death record, he was born July 27, 1922 at Moser River, Halifax County, NS. His wife, who provided the information for the record did not know his parents’ names. According to his obituary, he was the son of Charles Parlee. There is a Charles H. Parlee (July 4, 1895 – September 17, 1968) buried at Riverside Cemetery, Moser River. His wife’s name was Edith B. (December 3, 1902 – August 18, 1971). This could be William’s parents.
William served overseas with the Canadian Army during the Second World War. After he returned to Canada, he married Minnie Ethel Bezanson. They lived in Moser River where he worked as a farmer and foreman.
William was diagnosed with glioma of the brain in 1960. He spent 23 days in Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, NS, in January 1963 before he passed away on January 26th. He was only 40 years old.
