Freeman Gordon MacDonald was born in June 1906 at Harrigan Cove, Halifax County, NS, the son of Margaret ‘Maggie’ Catherine Rumley and Henry Ephriam MacDonald. His siblings were Clarissa Johanna, Daniel, Mary Ann, Elizabeth ‘Bessie’, Alveretta, Viola, Louise and Margaret ‘Maggie’ Grace. He served in the Second World War as a gunner with the Royal Canadian Army.

He died suddenly on December 25, 1972 at his home at Harrigan Cove. He was buried in St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Sheirs Road, Harrigan Cove.

Other Additions

Also added to the site today was the marriage record for Margaret Walters and Abram McDonald. Margaret was 21 years old, born at Liscomb, the daughter of Ann and Charles Walters. Abram was 28 years old, the son of Mary and Daniel McDonald. They were married on March 24, 1880 at Liscomb, Guysborough County, NS.
